Butterfly Host Plants
Female butterflies will lay their eggs on certain plants, these plants are called "host plants". So many butterflies so many different host plants. For example: Zebra Longwing will lay eggs on passion vines, while Queens will lay eggs on milkweeds. After some time baby caterpillar will hatch from egg and will start eating its host plant, some time they'll eat it down to nothing. But do not worry, most plants will grow back fast.
